Reference Librarian (Adult Services)

Part Time – 20 hours

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide reference and readers’ advisory services

·         Assist patrons with the Internet, eMedia, and the online catalog

·         Teach computer classes

 

Schedule

Thursday 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Friday 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM

Weekend Rotation (includes one full weekend & one half weekend

 

Qualifications:


Required:
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program and a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a library of any type; will be a team player who works well with others; and who is endowed with excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, and outstanding readers’ advisory skills.


Preferred: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in reference and adult services is preferred, preferably in a public library.


Desired: It would be great if you were fun-loving, tactful, resourceful, and good-humored.

 

Starting Salary:

From $20.00/hour. This position is eligible for IMRF benefits.
